Summary

This item presents the development of a new training guideline for the “Decontamination of Persons” course at the Hessian State Fire Service School. Based on a comparative analysis of existing training programmes in four German federal states, it proposes an expanded, practice-oriented curriculum with longer training duration, realistic deployment scenarios, and improved operational coherence. The work also identifies necessary legal and policy adjustments at state level and provides recommendations for harmonising procedures and equipment related to CBRN decontamination.
