Trainings in Georgia have taken place

In July and October 2024, trainings for Georgia Red Cross Society’(GRCS) Tbilisi and Batumi volunteers, as well as for representatives of partner organizations working in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) field, were organized by the GRCS “Who Cares” project psychologists. The main thematic of the trainings were: Crisis events and Psychosocial Support, Stress and Coping, Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Self-care. 

The main targets of the above-mentioned trainings were volunteers and humanitarian workers, working with Ukrainian refugees. The trainings consisted from theoretical, as well as from practical parts; participants were actively engaged in the process and stressed the importance of such meetings for their every-day life and work. 

In October 2024, training on the above-mentioned thematic was organized for the GRCS and Tbilisi City Hall Hotline operators. Also in this case, participants were very enthusiastic and satisfied with the sessions. 

In October 2024, trainings were conducted for teachers, working with children affected by Ukraine crisis. The trainings included following topics: Stress and Coping, Working with Children in Crisis, PFA, and Self-care; the sessions included discussions on practical examples. The trainings took place out of the usual circumstances of participants, aiming, additionally, at relaxation. Teachers were actively involved in discussions, role-plays and were very thankful and highly satisfied with the sessions.
