Through the SAILOR project, cooperation between countries is sought to gain experience in order to face the challenges in the regions of the South Caucasus and the Balkans, including Turkey, as well as to strengthen the efforts regarding the response to forest fires, based on the PPRD initiative EAST III.
The meeting was held under the coordination of the University of Western Macedonia and the MaterLab Laboratory, with Professor Mr. Ioannis Bakouros, Deputy Doctor - Researcher Mr. Evangelos Katsaros, as well as Deputy Doctor - Researcher Mrs. Amalia Kouskouras, who carried out presentations of the project and coordinated the next steps. The European Officer of DG ECHO Mr. Christian Aagaard participated in the meeting.
The delegation visited the Arkhiloskalo Fire Service on the border with Azerbaijan as well as the Red Cross office, local volunteers, Mayor Dedoflistskaro, Vashlovani National Park.
