The Department of the Interior of the Generalitat de Catalunya is one of the departments in which the current administration of the Generalitat is organized, and is in charge of exercising the powers in the following areas:

• The functions related to citizen security. 
• Traffic.
• Emergencies and civil protection. 
• Prevention, extinction of fires and rescue.
• Public shows and recreational activities.
• Any other provisions attributed to it by law and other provisions.
