Description

The French National Fire Officers Academy (ENSOSP) has trained over 25 000 professional officers:
  • from the rank of Lieutenant to General controller ;
  • officers and professionnal and volunteer fire officers as well as health service officers (nurses, doctors, pharmacists, veterinarians).

The French National Fire Officers Academy is a national public administration. It depends upon the General Directorate for Civil Protection and Crisis Management (DGSCGC), the Interior Ministry.

A School with values and traditions

The identity of the firefighters finds its anchor in the universal values of safeguarding and respect for men, the sense of help, assistance and solidarity. This identity is faithful to the values of the French nation and therefore of the Republic.

Citizen engagement for the general interest of the nation is the fundamental element of the identity of French firefighters. This civic commitment is strongly imbued with self-giving and the spirit of modernity.
It is done within a historic community of volunteer and professional firefighters in a spirit of complementarity and interaction for the benefit of others, without any discrimination in the care of victims and between firefighters.
