Gekom – Geofizikalno i ekološko modeliranje

Overview

Description

The complex environmental challenges of today require an interdisciplinary approach to problem solving and cooperation between different professions. Geophysical and ecological modeling as a specialist discipline includes a set of computational methods and procedures that enable us to better understand complex processes and interactions in the environment, and help us in objective decision-making and selection of environmentally friendly solutions.

The company Gekom – Geophysical and Ecological Modeling Ltd., was founded in 2007 with the aim of adopting, combining and improving existing knowledge in the field of geophysical (atmospheric physics, physical oceanography, hydrology) and ecological modeling (water and air quality, population dynamics, vegetation dynamics, biomass production, etc.), in order to support the effective solution of environmental problems.

GEKOM's specialist geophysical and environmental modelling services are applicable in a wide range of projects in the fields of renewable energy sources, environmental protection, nature protection, risk assessments, natural resource management, optimization of buildings and other interventions at sea, land and inland waters and the like. GEKOM also participates in development and research projects, which continuously improves its knowledge-based service.

Gekom's employees are geophysicists, mathematicians/programmers, environmental technologists, biologists, urban planners and experts in traffic analysis and planning, with extensive work experience and the necessary skills to perform complex tasks of geophysical and ecological modeling, including visualization and interpretation of the obtained results.

Gekom is open to cooperation with other professions (builders, chemists, technologists, environmentalists, etc.), and in particular with institutes and companies that produce interdisciplinary studies, elaborate and project documentation in the fields of environmental protection, energy, infrastructure, industrial ecology, water management, nature protection, agriculture, forestry, environmental economy and spatial planning.
