LatRC's mission: provision of professional, high-quality, timely, necessary assistance to people who are in a crisis situation, regardless of their nationality, race, religious affiliation, position in society or political opinions.

LatRC's vision of its activities: to become a well-known, well-organized, economically independent organization in Latvia and worldwide, which solves the problems of residents of Latvia and other countries in crisis situation in an operational and professional manner.

LatRC purposefully develops and improves its activities and the offered humanitarian services to people who need help the most. In accordance with the basic principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the purpose of LatRC's activities is to provide professional, high-quality, timely and needs-appropriate assistance to every person who is in a crisis situation, regardless of his or her nationality, race, religious affiliation, position in society or political views. LatRC activities are implemented while maintaining neutrality and promoting humanism, with the aim of alleviating human suffering, protecting life and health, ensuring respect for people, as well as promoting mutual understanding, tolerance and cooperation in society.

LatRC has accumulated many years of experience in working with population groups at risk of social exclusion – individual clients, groups, families with children, third-country nationals, asylum seekers, refugees, persons with alternative status.c, etc., thus contributing to overcoming the crisis situation of the client and making their integration into Latvian society.

LatRC is the only national society of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent (more than ICRC) organization recognized by law, which, under the mandate of the ICRC movement, carries out activities in the Republic of Latvia. In accordance with the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their additional protocols of 1977 and 2005, LatRC acts as an assistant to state institutions in the field of humanitarian aid.
