Universität der Bundeswehr München

Universität der Bundeswehr München

Overview

Description

Founded in 1973, the university consists of a university area and the higher education department for applied sciences. The trimester system, a study of the short distances within the campus university and the individual support of the students in small groups enable a successful study within a short time. After 3 years of standard period of study, students achieve the Bachelor's degree, after four years a Master's degree in intensive studies is possible. The degrees are equivalent to those at state universities. Research and teaching at the Bundeswehr University are free, and excellent scientific institutions enable internationally competitive research at a high level.

The university management is committed to continuously improving the study and research conditions. A structural reform in 2000, which led to a strengthening of university autonomy and an opening of the university to the outside world, enables the university to react quickly and flexibly to the growing challenges and to continue to be a pioneer in reforms.
