Benefiting from the RED ROSES Advisory Board

Thanks to and following on from this first consortium meeting, the cross-border civil protection authorities and relevant stakeholders have been engaged in the organisation of the RED ROSES Advisory Board, made up of their representatives.  Its members have been identified in recognition of their knowledge and work, as well as their interest in cross-border hazards and disaster risk reduction issues. Expected to use the results of the project in each cross-border study area, they will all contribute to collaborative intelligence and constitute an additional force for strategic thinking, support and monitoring for RED ROSES implementation.

The RED ROSES consortium is delighted to be able to count on a competent and high-quality Advisory Board, composed of 15 members from France and Italy, as well as Cyprus, Germany and Spain: cross-border civil protection authorities (French Directorate General for Civil Security and Crisis Management - DGSCGC, Alpes Maritimes Departemental Fire and Rescue Service - SDIS 06, Piedmont Region Civil Protection Agency, Piedmont National Fire & Rescue Corps), Centre for Studies and Expertise on Risks, Environment, Mobility and Urban Planning - CEREMA, municipalities and mayors of the Susa Valley, Centre-of-Excellence in Risk & Decision Sciences - CERIDES, Freiberg Technical University, Pau Costa Foundation, and independent experts.

On 12 July 2023, the Advisory Board of the RED ROSES project met with the Project Team in hybrid format for the first time. A general presentation was given by the French Red Cross, as Project Coordinator. It was followed by further presentations of work packages and discussions on the data ecosystem mapping, the definition of the platform’s use cases, and the issues of data collection and sharing, especially in a cross-border context.
