IMPACT

The 'Implementation of Paragon Across Territories - IMPACT' project intends to further develop the PARAGON platform, on which crisis information can be fully shared in real time at national level in Belgium and with neighbouring countries. It is timely and relies on gaps identified through previous projects and during recent incidents.

Description

To prepare for a crisis and optimise crisis management, accurate information and the ability to communicate are very important. Member States are used to dealing with this, within their territories.

However, emergency situations know no borders, which is why these same aspects are equally important when dealing with cross-border situations. After an initial project that mapped all aspects of emergency planning and crisis management within the Benelux context, it is time to focus on setting up a ICT system to bring imaging and communication capabilities to an international level, in order to prepare adequately and handle the crisis efficiently when it occurs.

This IMPACT project will provide an ICT tool to which all international partners will have access, and where they will be able to actively register the information, which they have in relation to the cross-border incident or relevant to this incident.
