The consortium is delighted to announce that the Table Top Exercise (TTX) of the DG ECHO funded project “PDEX-JIP: Professional Dialogue Exercise – Jordan Israel Palestine” has commenced with great success between the 8th and 9th of January 2023 in all the three Regions.
A minimum of two representatives from each of the consortium partnership facilitated the three areas; in the Home Front Command in Ramla, the Palestinian Civil Defence Headquarter in Ramallah and Jordan Civil Defense in Amman. The coordinator of this project is CERIDES – Excellence in Innovation and Technology, European University Cyprus partnering with the Civil Defense Cyprus and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus. PPI, Johanniter, DMAT, and RSI. The project's officer from DG-ECHO and representatives from UN OCHA have also participated online.
The aim of the TTX was to conduct a simulation of the actual Full-Scale Exercise (FSX) and for a discussion to follow up in which strong points and things to be improved will be pinpointed. The efforts of the partnership, in close collaboration with the beneficiaries, as developed in the past year within the project, including the expansion of specific plans, documents, maps, guidelines were used and elaborated on. Possible problems and connected solutions were identified at the spot resulting in a solid ground for a successful FSX. Emphasis was given, by the consortium experts in facilitating Jordanian, Israeli and Palestinian authorities to familiarize in practice with the International Assistance Procedures.
