Brought to the audience through the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network, the 2024 UCPM Foosball Championship will be an exciting side event of the 2024 European Civil Protection Forum, right on time to warm up the crowds ahead of the UEFA European Football Championship hosted by Germany in June-July 2024.
UCPM Member and Participating States were given the chance to nominate two team members to represent the country and compete in the tournament. They were further strengthened from among the Forum participants coming directly from Member and Participating States or EU institutions. A total of 24 countries have registered and will be part of the tournament.
To ensure fair play and an enjoyable experience for all participants, the tournament will adhere to a set of standardised rules that will guide the players through the rounds to determine a podium of three winning countries that will be rewarded for their skills and sportsmanship.
The UCPM Foosball Championship 2024 is not merely a recreational activity; it is a platform designed to foster unity and collaboration among the diverse stakeholders within our civil protection network. By bringing together representatives from Member and Participating States, the Knowledge Network aims to cultivate a sense of community and solidarity that transcends borders.
All registered teams were randomly drawn to form six tournament groups, each composed of four teams. The group phase took place during the first day of the Forum (4 June), with each of the teams playing three games.

(1) Number of wins, (2) number of goals scored and (3) alphabetical order were used to rank all teams during the group phase.
A total of 16 teams advanced to the second round: all teams from first and second places and the best four of teams placing third in their respective tournament groups. They later competed in the tournament bracket during the second day of the Forum (5 June).
