Goal 1 - Anticipate
Improving risk assessment, anticipation, and disaster risk management planning.
Good decisions require reliable and timely information. The anticipate goal proposes to improve the capability of the Union and Member States to identify and assess relevant disaster risk information with potential transboundary and cross-sectoral impacts by 2030. Based on accurate information, authorities can develop better preventive measures and ultimately, better protect citizens.
Flagship initiative:
To develop Europe-wide disaster scenarios, before the end of 2023, which will identify key hazards with cross-border impacts faced by the Union. The initiative aims to improve Europe’s capabilities of both anticipating large-scale disasters and implementing relevant preventive measures.
