Secure - Ensuring a robust civil protection system.
Civil protection authorities need to remain operational during and after a disaster, when society needs them most. The Secure goal aims to ensure a robust civil protection system, and that the EU’s ERCC and the situational command centres of the civil protection authorities in Member States remain operational at all times.
Flagship initiative:
To stress-test the emergency operation centres across Europe.
This flagship will pilot a pan-European disaster preparedness ‘stress test’ to be planned in 2023, which will check the business continuity of emergency operation centres. This initiative has the aim of identifying flaws, and obtaining results and lessons to feed into future stress-tests to enhance overall EU resilience.
