Description
The Citizen Participation & Deliberative Democracy Festival is an open event that brings together people of diverse backgrounds that are interested in, and working on, citizen engagement and deliberative democracy in Europe (and beyond). The programme features a variety of events including open discussions, interactive sessions, an exhibition of citizen engagement projects and artwork.
The KAPP Empower-Citizens project will be featured in the workshop "Empowering citizens for climate action and societal resilience – how participatory approaches are shaping our tomorrow, together", which will take place on Friday, 6 November 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. This session explores how citizen engagement can strengthen preparedness and resilience through inclusive, whole-of-society approaches. Highlighting practical strategies, real-world case studies, and participatory solutions, it examines how collaboration between authorities, civil society, and communities can overcome barriers, address inequalities, and enhance the effectiveness of disaster preparedness policies.
