
9th International Disaster Law Course
The 9th International Disaster Law Course (18-27 November 2024) is a specialised hybrid programme organised by the Sanremo Institute.
Registration Fees:
Hybrid Course: €1,100. Includes 5 days of online training, 3 days of on-site training in Sanremo, course materials, meals, and a course certificate.
Online Course Only: €500. Includes 5 days of online training and access to all course materials.

Event Description:
Disasters are among the largest threats to human security and development today. But is international law keeping pace with these challenges? This specialised hybrid course, organised by the Sanremo Institute in collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Disaster Law and the Italian Red Cross, provides participants with a comprehensive overview of international provisions and key regulatory issues related to disaster prevention and management, with a focus on the European Union context.
Course Attendance Options:
The course offers two distinct attendance options to cater to different preferences and needs:
Online Format (18-22 November 2024):
This option includes 5 days of online training, providing participants with a deep dive into the legal and operational framework for disaster governance and relief operations.
Hybrid Format (18-27 November 2024):
This option includes the 5 days of online training followed by a 3-day residential specialised workshop on EU Disaster Law, held in Sanremo, Italy. The workshop will focus on the European regional dimension of Disaster Law, addressing key regulatory challenges.
Structure of the Course:
The course will combine online and on-site lectures, practical exercises, self-assessment tools, and interactive group work. Organised by the Sanremo Institute in collaboration with the IFRC Disaster Law and the Italian Red Cross, this programme provides a tailored and dynamic learning environment.
Faculty:
