Registration for the Disaster resilient societies (DRS) virtual events of June 2022 is open!

The purpose of DRS events are to strengthen synergies among both running and new research projects funded by the Civil Security for Society Horizon Europe programme. Join if you are interested in learning more about ongoing initiative in the following fields:

  • 15 June 2022 (10-12h30) – Societal Resilience – Projects in the area of “Increased Risk Awareness and Preparedness of Citizens”
  • 16 June 2022 (10-12h30) – Strengthened Capacities of First Responders – Projects in the area of “Pre-hospital Life Support and Triage”
  • 17 June 2022 (10-12h30) – Projects in the area of CBRN-E, including a report from the Lille Conference and recent exercises”.

The events will be based on panels involving a mix of new (started in 2021) and current projects around the following questions:

  • Which are the most pressing challenges that we should tackle immediately in your respective areas?
  • How can European Institutions help address the knowledge gaps (data, models, technologies, methods) associated with [Societal Resilience / Technologies for First Responders / CBRN-E]?
  • Besides your own project(s), are there upcoming exciting projects & initiatives you have come across and wish the [Societal Resilience / Technologies for First Responders / CBRN-E] community should be aware of?
  • What strategies and/or tools should be adopted to enable academic preparation for disaster expertise? 
  • How can European Institutions help to reduce knowledge gaps between policymakers, scientists, SMEs/industry, practitioners and citizens to reach a collective knowledge? 
  • How can scientists, vulnerability experts and knowledge brokers work together to help improve risk awareness and decision-making around multi-hazard events?
