This workshop, organised by DG HOME, will focus on societal and technological aspects of disinformation, fake news and hate speech, particularly in the internal security angle.

Countering disinformation and fake news with security implications remains an increasingly important issue requiring modern information analysis. Projects under the Fighting Crime and Terrorism programme of the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security have gathered field insights and developed tools to enhance EU actions to fight disinformation and fake news, which shall be presented and discussed in this workshop. Furthermore, recent developments and achievements at policy and practitioner level will be presented. The workshop aims to bring together researchers, policy makers and practitioners to facilitate sharing of experiences and identify synergies to strengthen collaboration at a European level.

The workshop will take place at Le Bouche à Oreille in Brussels.
