Description

This expert meeting and webinar will address practical thematic areas of crisis communication. Organised by the Risk Governance and Public Communication teams of the OECD Public Governance Directorate, the webinar is structured into three different sessions.

The first two "Communication in Preparedness and Resilience Planning" and "Communication in Crisis Response" are open to public officials from OECD and Accession countries and experts in public communications. They will consist of presentations on country case studies by crisis specialists. The last session on the strategic outlook for crisis communication will take place in the form of a presentation followed by a roundtable discussion. It is open to officials from OECD Members and Accession countries only.

The webinars will address the following practical areas:

  • Developing effective coordination mechanisms
  • Building capacity for rapid insights and monitoring
  • Relationship-building with stakeholders and trusted messengers
  • Digital-first response
  • Managing rumours and mis-/ disinformation
  • Giving strategic advice to decision-makers
