ECHO–WFP Webinar - What Do We Need for the Next Emergency?
The next ECHO–WFP Webinar - What Do We Need for the Next Emergency? will take place online on 16 June 2025.
The Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) are pleased to invite you to a virtual regional webinar: What Do We Need for the Next Emergency? Taking Stock of Progress and Gaps in Shock-Responsive Social Protection in Latin America and the Caribbean.
As Latin America and Caribbean prepares for the 2025 hurricane season there is an increasing urgency to strengthen anticipatory, preparedness, and crisis response capacities by adopting innovative approaches such as Anticipatory Action, and by reinforcing more sustainable and cost-effective strategies like Shock-Responsive Social Protection, also known as Adaptive Social Protection.
ECHO and WFP are working together to advance this agenda. Trough this webinar, they aim to foster critical reflection on the progress to date and, more importantly, to spark collective discussion coordinating concrete actions to close the most urgent gaps across the region.
This timely exchange will gather government and humanitarian actors to assess advancements in Shock-Responsive Social Protection (SRSP) and explore what is still needed to be better prepared for future emergencies. The webinar will be held in English, Spanish, and French with simultaneous interpretation.
