The webinar will look at examples of emerging technologies in the field Disaster Risk Reduction from within and outside of the CORE projects, presenting also the first responders’ perspective in some of the technologies that will be presented.
The presentations that will be delivered are:
- AI in Disaster Management: From Science to Practice (Bernd Resch, Associate Professor at University of Salzburg)
- Aerial Imagery for Emergency Events: Technology Overview (Ronnen Avny, Researcher at University of Salerno)
- Aerial component in support of CEMS mapping: overview and use cases (Guido Di Carlo, GIS Expert service provider for the Copernicus Emergency Management Service)
- A toolbox to reflect the potential of emerging technologies to enhance safety culture – the societal perspective (Lorena Kuratle, doctoral student at ETHZ)
- The benefit of crowdsourced data for rapid earthquake impact assessments (Rémy Bossu, seismologist and director of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre)
The presentations will be followed by a Q&A session.
