FIRE-RES event "Towards a fire resilient Europe: can we do better?" will take place on 24 October 2023 from at the European Parliament.
Extreme wildfire events are becoming a major environmental, economic and social threat across Europe. In this context, FIRE-RES is organising the policy event “Towards a fire resilient Europe: can we do better?” on 24 October 2023 from 14:30 to 16:30 at the European Parliament. The event is co-hosted by MEPs Ulrike Müller and Jordi Solé i Ferrando.
The workshop is aimed at all decision-makers involved in forest management and climate change issues and its main focus on how the European Union can improve its resilience to forest fires.
Policy makers from the European Commission and the European Parliament as well as national and regional representatives are invited to participate in the discussions, together with firefighters and researchers, who will share their on-the-ground experience.
