The second edition of the Know your Hazard: Conference on Community Disaster Preparedness will focus on preparedness for various hazards, in particular those caused by extreme weather events triggered by climate change. By using a fictional flood scenario, participants will gain insights on different aspects of disaster preparedness, such as the physical and mental impacts of a disaster on the human body and the resilience of infrastructure toward flooding. Insurance aspects will be covered and lastly, the role of the bank sector in helping communities rebuild and become better prepared for natural disasters will be discussed.
