Description

From 29-31 March 2023, in Yerevan, Armenia, the Main Planning Conference was held for the exercise which is the final phase of the HOPE FSX project.

The scenario for the exercise is dealing with the consequences of an earthquake in the vicinity of Yerevan.

The MPC was hosted by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia.

Safety and health protection training for first responders during rescue operations was conducted at the Conference. The partners in the project shared their experience and lessons learned, which will be adapted accordingly to the needs of the exercise. Furthermore, we worked on developing the structure of the exercise with all the elements that will be tested. The declared USAR teams from Armenia, Georgia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, France, Greece and Cyprus, during the exercise will act according to the standards and crisis management system of #INSARAG. All stages of requesting, offering and receiving assistance through the #EU Civil Protection Mechanism - #UCPM, the Guidelines of HNS, border crossing procedures, VOSOCC, etc., will be performed.

By fulfilling the goals of the HOPE FSX project, in coordination with the #PPRD EAST III Program, and with support of the partners, the operational capacities of the participating countries will improve their interoperability and capability to face the future challenges of the disaster management.
