The aim of this workshop is to present the results of the European Project WUITIPS, funded by the European Commission’s Civil Protection Department (DG-ECHO). The project has developed risk analysis methodologies for tourist infrastructures and applied them to pilot cases in Girona (Spain) and Pyrénées Orientales (France). The workshop aims to explore how these results can be scaled up to other regions and countries, with a view to reduce wildfire risk in touristic areas and infrastructures. It also aims to serve as a platform for expert reflection and debate, fostering solutions that are applicable across Europe.
Target audience: experts and representatives of regions faced with wildfire risks, of the tourism sector, of administrations responsible for citizens’ safety, and representatives of various Directorates General of the European Commission or of other institutions working in this field (i.e. CLIMA, ENV, AGRI, GROW, JRC, ECHO).
