Description
The Technical Assistance Financing Facility for Disaster Prevention and Preparedness (TAFF) workshop will take place between 2 and 3 October 2025, in Brussels.
The workshop will bring together Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM) representatives and experts, including from ongoing TAFF-supported projects, the European Commission, the World Bank and the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery, and others, to facilitate knowledge exchange and cross-fertilisation. The event will include a mix of presentations, group activities, and plenary discussions.
Workshop objectives:
- highlight selected ongoing TAFF activities and how they contribute to strategic and operational priorities at the EU/country level, including the EU Preparedness Strategy,
- share and exchange knowledge on selected topics, and
- draw out lessons relevant for TAFF activities and more broadly for scaling up resilient investments, and maximising their impact.
The presentations and report will be made available after the event on the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network, and on the TAFF GFDRR website.
