We welcome everyone interested to join us in our fourth webinar, this time about flying multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) simultaneously in a disaster situation (e.g., floods). This webinar is conducted in collaboration with the COLLARIS project (also funded by DG ECHO).
With the growing use of UAVs during emergencies, future air operations over an area of crisis will become increasingly complex. As UAV flights are performed rapidly and simultaneously by multiple institutions, ensuring safety and good coordination represents a challenge. An additional level of complexity is added by flights of human-operated aircraft. Today, a typical number is 0 human-operated aircraft when UAV flights are conducted, or 0 UAV when human-operated aircraft conduct flights. The webinar will be focused on ways and means of changing that situation in order to enable safe and effectively coordinated flights by both types of aviation during crisis operation.
