
WUITIPS WORKSHOP I
Towards a harmonized framework for cross-border fire management in touristic infrastructures
Barcelona, May 11th (9:15h - 16:30h)
The main aim of this workshop is to facilitate discussions on the state of the art of protocols, methods and regulations regarding the overall cycle of wildland-urban interface (WUI) fire management, that are nowadays being used in transboundary touristic areas of the European Union. We will be counting on the participation of experts from Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey and WUITIPS stakeholders from Catalunya and Roussillon.
The workshop will take place at UPC premises, coordinator of the Action, in Barcelona Diagonal Besòs Campus (UPC) ( Avda. d'Eduard Maristany, 16, 08019, Barcelona).
The workshop will start with a brief explanation of the WUITIPS project by the coordinator (Elsa Pastor), followed by a presentation from DG-ECHO wildfire action plan (P.O. and team laeded Cristina Brailescu).
Afterwards a brief summary of the current situation in different countries will be provided by invited experts and WUITIPS consortium:
Round table discussions will take place to analyse governance, risk management planning, risk assessment, risk prevention & preparedness and emergency response in wildfires impacting touristic destinations.
Attendance is limited to invited participants only.
