"Disaster!" Comic book on Risk Awareness by the DRAW DATA Project

The DRAW DATA project is helping build a more risk-aware society by combining data, education and creativity to improve how we understand and prepare for disasters. By strengthening disaster loss data collection and developing awareness-raising tools, the project supports better decision-making and a more resilient public.

One of its most engaging outputs is a unique comic book designed to make disaster risk reduction (DRR) accessible, memorable and even fun. Originally created in Croatian by a talented comic book artist, the publication uses humour, storytelling and striking visuals to deliver important safety advice.

Now, the author and the project team have developed an English version of the comic book, opening it up to a wider audience beyond Croatia. The goal is simple: ensure that as many people as possible can benefit from practical DRR advice, while enjoying a few laughs along the way.
