Executive Summary

Harmonized Framework for Seismic Hazard Assessment. Deliverable D.2.1 establishes a framework for data exchange and collaborative seismic hazard modeling. It introduces a logic-tree approach to manage uncertainties in seismic source models and ground motion predictions and emphasizes the use of software adhering to current standards for Probabilistic and Deterministic Seismic Hazard Analyses (PSHA & DSHA). Four pilot sites —Alexandroupoli, Canakkale, Izmir, and Vathy— are defined to represent the region's seismic characteristics.
