The document highlights the importance of forests in North Macedonia and the organisational, institutional, and legal framework for the protection of forests against fires in the country. The need for an integrated system for prevention and early warning of forest fires is emphasized and the project to achieve that is presented. As a result, the Macedonian Forest Fire Information System was created that is explained in this document, focussing on different tools and products, such as a hot spot mal, vegetation dryness map, fire weather index map, and more.
