From Lessons Identified to Lessons Learnt: Using HNS Experience and Examples

The final report from the Regional Conference “From Lessons Identified to Lessons Learnt using HNS Experience and Examples” (Bodrum, 19–22 May 2026) is now available.

Organised under the PPRD OSA Programme and financed by DG ECHO, the conference convened senior civil protection and disaster risk management authorities from IPA III beneficiaries, and Eastern Neighbourhood partners. The event focused on operationalising Host Nation Support (HNS) lessons, fostering inter-institutional coordination, and embedding best practices into national systems. The report presents actionable recommendations, peer workshop outcomes, and case studies illustrating progress and persistent challenges in translating lessons into institutional change. It offers concrete guidance for strengthening preparedness, accountability, and regional cooperation in line with EU standards.
