Summary

CBRN decontamination is uncommon for the general population, including vulnerable and disabled individuals. People who are not familiar with it often do not know what to expect and how to handle this situation. This can be a major challenge and source of stress for everyone involved, both the emergency services and the people affected. This makes it all the more important to understand the needs and requirements of the various stakeholders for decontamination and the process itself, according to the guidance. It applies both to the physical processes and to aspects such as communication (both aspects are discussed in this document. )
