Implemented by the French Ministry of Culture in 2020 and following the Notre-Dame cathedral fire, this action plan’s main objective is to improve the level of security and safety of the 89 cathedrals, basilicas and churches belonging to the French State. It lists precisely the actions to be implemented, divided into eight specific fields of action. It includes the reinforced monitoring of each building and the progress made in terms of security and safety, while taking into account technological advances, at a time when malicious fire-raising acts are increasing. KEYWORDS: preparedness, action plan, response, cultural heritage, cathedrals, churches
