Summary

This bachelor’s thesis analyses key factors influencing the effectiveness of casualty decontamination during chemical, radiological and related emergency scenarios. Building on lessons from the 2017 “ChemRad” exercise and a systematic literature review, the study identifies and categorises internal and external factors affecting both immediate and follow-up decontamination. The work establishes a theoretical framework to support future experimental research and optimisation of decontamination procedures.
