Recap of the 3rd coordination meeting of the MANIFESTS Genius project in Lisbon!
The first week of December, Cedre traveled to Portugal to take part in a key meeting of the MANIFESTS Genius project, warmly hosted by our partner IST-ID. This gathering marked a significant milestone: for the first time, the project’s advisory board members met in person with the project partners.
What was the objective of these two days?
- Review the progress of the project: coordination, communication, underwater gas leakage experiments and modeling, accident scenario development, and more.
- Organize two operational mini-exercises to define the scenarios for upcoming drills:
- A high-pressure underwater natural gas leak.
- A Li-ion battery fire onboard a ferry.
These exercises provided an opportunity to closely collaborate with key stakeholders from the Advisory Board: Marine Nationale and SDIS 62 (France), DGMA (Portugal), GDMM (Spain), MCA (United Kingdom), and DG-Env (Belgium). Thanks to their expertise, the scenarios developed will closely reflect real-life situations and will be used in tabletop exercises planned as part of the project.
