Bosnia and Herzegovina joins the UCPM
On 6 September Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarčič signed an agreement on behalf of the European Union granting Bosnia and Herzegovina official membership of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has become a full member of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The country, which has previously received assistance from the Mechanism, will from now on also be able to actively dispatch assistance via the UCPM wherever it is needed. Bosnia and Herzegovina becoming a full member of the Mechanism will enhance Europe's emergency preparedness and response.
