After the flood and flash flood events hit north-eastern Libya, this map shows the current situation and ECHO's response.
This daily map gives an impact overview of the current situation and and the UCPM response activation already underway after the flood and flash flood events hit north-eastern Libya. 10 EU Member States offered assistance (AT, BE, BG, DE, FI, FR, IT, NL, RO, SK) have responded to the request for assistance consisting of an emergency medical team, search and rescue teams and equipment, heavy machinery, technical expertise and in-kind assistance (shelter, food and non-food items, power generators).
As of 12 September, over 84 generators, 2 helicopters, 5 trucks, 10 hydro pumps, over 4,500 food and water items, over 33,000 shelter items, 1,500 search and rescue items, over 2 million medical items and over 7,800 wash items. In addition to 1 diving team, 1 Emergency Medical Team, 1 EUCP Team (composed by two experts), 2 experts to join UNDAC and 1 Liaison Officer to support ground operations.
Environmental expertise have been deployed under the UCPM to support Libya after the flash food events, additionally to EUR 500,000 released earlier this week to respond to urgent wash and health needs, ECHO has mobilized another EUR 5,2 million to address needs resulting from the floods, bringing the total funding to EUR 5,7 million.
The impact overview showcase a total of 4,255 confirmed fatalities, at least 43,059 displaced people, while approximately 8,450 others remain missing and around 4,000 affected buildings.
