Daily Map | rescEU capacities 2023
rescEU capacities have been steadily increasing since their first establishment. This map now gives and overview of the current capacities.
rescEU was created by the European Commission to add an extra layer of protection for its citizens from natural and man-made disasters as well as emerging risks. This reserve of response capacities is fully funded by the EU and strengthens capacities to respond to a variety of disasters, such as wildfires, CBRN incidents and medical emergencies.
This daily map gives an overview over the current rescEU capacities, both operational and those still in development. The capacities are located in 21 different member and participating states, hosting a range of different response instruments. For example, nine member states are currently hosting medical stockpiles, in order to ensure a swift response to health crises. Other capacities include aerial forest fire fighting capacities, shelter, transport and energy capacities or medical evacuations.
Further CBRN stockpiles and decontamination capacities, as well as shelter, transport and emergency medical teams are still being developed.
Daily maps provide an overview of a significant event or situation on a daily basis. Monitoring events around the globe 24/7, the ERCC produces informative geospatial maps as part of its response to disasters.
