Daily Map | UCPM MEDEVAC operations
Ukrainian people in need of urgent medical care are evacuated in operations coordinated by the ERCC. This map gives an overview of these operations.
Since mid-August of 2022, pre-planned flights for the medical evacuation of patients from Ukraine have been taking place. In collaboration with DG SANTE, a standard operating procedure was developed to evacuate Ukrainian people in urgent need of medical care.
Beside ad-hoc operations, the pre-planned flights have been taking place twice per week. These operations are coordinated by the ERCC and the MEDEVAC liason officers of UCPM member and participating states. They are carried out using a medicalised plane which was offered by Norway. To support the operations, a EU MEDEVAC hub has been set up and been in operation since September 2022 in Poland.
As of 05 July, 2351 operations have been completed, transporting patients from Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, and Slovakia to different UCPM member and participating states. 749 patients have been transported to Germany, 254 to Norway, and 220 to Spain. 19 other UCPM member and participating states also received patients for treatment.
Daily maps provide an overview of a significant event or situation on a daily basis. Monitoring events around the globe 24/7, the ERCC produces informative geospatial maps as part of its response to disasters.
