Disaster preparedness and risk reduction at EURegionsWeek 2025

Discover sessions on preparedness, financing, and citizen engagement in disaster risk reduction during EURegionsWeek 2025, October 13–15.

The European Week of Regions and Cities (EURegionsWeek) 2025 will take place from 13 to 15 October in Brussels under the theme “Shaping Tomorrow, Together.” This 23rd edition will feature over 200 events, including political sessions, workshops, and interactive discussions, focusing on three key areas: 

  • Cohesion and Growth for the Future: Discover how cohesion policy can drive sustainable growth and innovation across Europe.
  • The Right to Stay: Discuss ways to ensure that people can thrive in their own regions.
  • Cities Building Tomorrow: Explore the role of cities in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future. 

Several sessions relevant to Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) are anticipated, some of them related to preparedness, financing, and citizen engagement in disaster risk reduction, which also involve projects funded by the UCPM:
