The "Disaster Resilience Days 2025" conference, held in Brussels from 19–21 May and organised by the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS), brought together over 160 participants to strengthen EU disaster preparedness.

Experts, policymakers and innovators discussed challenges ranging from climate change to terrorism and showcased emerging technologies like AI, drones and digital platforms. Key themes included the need for cross-border coordination, inclusive multi-stakeholder strategies and the transition from research to real world deployment.

The event emphasised EU initiatives such as the Preparedness Union Strategy and the European Critical Communication System. It featured eight panel discussions and demonstrations of seven EU-funded disaster resilience projects, all aiming to boost Europe's ability to respond to increasingly complex crises.
