In its fight against the devastating wildfires currently sweeping the country, Greece is receiving support through the UCPM. Teams and equipment from other UCPM countries are there, supporting the wildfire effort and showing that Greece is not alone in its war against fire.
Mediterranean countries are experiencing devastating wildfires, driven by extreme high temperatures, dry conditions and high winds. Among them, Greece has been hit particularly hard in the last week.
UCPM member and participating countries have stepped up their support to Greece in response. Pre-positioned firefighters already in Greece have been complemented by aerial and ground firefighting teams and equipment.
