Final Specialised EUMA Workshop held in Tallinn

By project EUMA staffPublished on

On 30 June – 1 July 2025, the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences had the honour of hosting the sixth and final specialised EUMA workshop. This two-day international workshop focused on “Geopolitical and Security Issues in Risk Management”.

Organised as part of the EU-funded EUMA Project - which supports academic cooperation and capacity building in the field of civil protection - the event brought together 18 participants from across Europe and beyond, both on-site and online.

Across six thematic sessions, the workshop addressed how current geopolitical and security challenges are shaping civil protection and risk management. Topics included external border risks, chemical safety, digital vulnerabilities, and local-level preparedness.

The EASS workshop concluded the EUMA thematic series, which explored a wide range of topics across six international events. The final project event, the summer school “Disaster Risk Management 2.0: Current and Future Challenges”, will take place in Pisa in September 2025. More information is available here.

We sincerely thank all speakers, participants, and partners for their contributions to this final specialised workshop.
