The first consultative meeting between the partners of the "Flood North Alb" project, whose leader is the NCPA, was held online on 23rd of December 2023.
Representatives from Cyprus, Montenegro, Greece, Albania and Italy attended to the meeting.
The First Meeting for the Complex Field Exercise "FloodNorthAlb" marks an important step towards strengthening the Civil Protection system in Albania.
This complex exercise, with the support of the European Union and international partners, part of the consortium - Greece, Montenegro, Italy, Cyprus - aims to improve response capabilities in case of floods.
The training mission includes the coordination of the local and central structures of the Civil Protection System in Albania, as well as the cross-border ones, integrating the best practices of #UCPM. The concrete and constructive discussions during the two days of the activity have focused on the planning of the exercise, including the simulation of flood situations in Shkodër.
The key role of the National Civil Protection Agency, as Lead Partner, in this collaboration with local and international partners serves to create a strong system of preparedness and response in case of major disasters.
The commitment of operational structures, local government, and Civil Protection institutions, as well as the supervision of Brussels, highlight efforts to strengthen the system and progress towards UCPM standards.
