By project INEGMA-E2 staffPublished on

INEGMA-E2 was presented at the Profound full-scale exercise aimed at improving the cooperation of flood response NGOs in the Danube region. With participants from 6 countries, the INEGMA-E2 team with representatives from project partner AIT had the opportunity to conduct interviews with evaluators as well as being part of the evaluation team themselves. All in all, 7 user requirements were identified thanks to the participation, namely:

  • Requirement 1: for evaluators an overview on content, time, and locations of the exercise as well as distance to travel between different sides is imperative
  • Requirement 2: the evaluation of safety and security measures is required to enhance the validation of the quality of the organisation of the exercise and the ensure physical safety of everybody involved in the exercise
  • Requirement 3: In international exercises, language barriers need to be considered and all relevant information must be presented in a way that makes it accessible to all involved partners encompassing evaluators
  • Requirement 4: exercise participants such as first responders require information on the specific scenario they are going to be involved in order to adapt their equipment and their material accordingly
  • Requirement 5: the participation of evaluators should be considered in the logistic preparation of an exercise, e.g. catering, sanitary requirement, place to sleep
  • Requirement 6: a host nation should be provided, in particular when transfer of a Schengen border is requested
  • Requirement 7: possible actions and decisions of exercise participants have to be anticipated in the inject design, e.g. participants are not sure on their task in a scenario
