KnowEMS Launches EMS Atlas to Connect Emergency Medical Services Worldwide

By project KnowEMS staffPublished on

At a time when digital access to information is instant but not always reliable, the EMS Atlas stands out as a centralized, curated, and user-friendly hub dedicated exclusively to EMS providers. The goal is to support international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mutual visibility among EMS organizations of all types and sizes.

As part of its ongoing mission to strengthen international cooperation in pre-hospital emergency care, the KnowEMS Project, co-funded by the European Commission, has announced the launch of the EMS Atlas—a dynamic online platform that brings together verified information on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) from across Europe and around the world.

A Visual Network for EMS Providers

The EMS Atlas features an interactive map where each participating service is represented by its logo at its geographic location. Clicking on a logo directs users to the official website of that EMS provider, ensuring access to accurate, up-to-date information directly from the source.

Built on an open and collaborative model, the platform continues to grow through the contributions of EMS partners across Europe and beyond. It is hosted on the KnowEMS Knowledge Network page, shared across project partner websites, and promoted via social media channels such as LinkedIn—maximizing visibility and outreach for every participating service.

How to Join the EMS Atlas

All EMS organizations are invited to join the platform. Participation is free and straightforward. To be featured, services are asked to provide:

  • Their official logo in high-resolution PNG or SVG format
  • A direct URL to their official website

Submissions can be sent to the KnowEMS team via email. Once received, the information will be integrated into the live EMS Atlas platform.

Building a Stronger, Connected EMS Community

The launch of the EMS Atlas aligns with the broader goals of the KnowEMS Project, which is developing a European network of EMS operations managers through monthly webinars, collaborative tools, and the exchange of lessons learned. The Atlas is the latest effort to support that mission—helping services to not only showcase their work, but also learn from and connect with peers globally.
