New! All EU Disaster Risk Management funding opportunities in one place

For the first time, information on relevant funding instruments, previously spread across several Commission services, has been brought together into a single, structured and easy-to-navigate resource. 

Covering 20 funding tools for technical assistance, knowledge exchange and investments from the UCPM and many other EU programmes, the overview includes programmes supporting prevention, preparedness, response, recovery and cross-border cooperation. It highlights instruments ranging from the UCPM to Horizon Europe and the Cohesion Fund and Erasmus+. The overview brings together funding opportunities managed by DG ECHO as well as many European Commission directorates, including DG HOME, REGIO, AGRI, ENV, EAC and HERA, reflecting the cross-cutting nature of the DRM cycle.  

Some examples 
 
A few examples highlight the broad range of funding available: 

• Technical Support Instrument (TSI) is the EU programme that provides support to EU Member States for their institutional, administrative and growth-enhancing reforms. The technical support is provided in a wide range of policy areas, including but not limited to competitiveness, climate action, digital transition and health. Disaster risk management is an area where support could be provided.
• Cohesion Fund supports prevention and preparedness measures, including flood protection infrastructure, early warning systems, training, and disaster-proofing of buildings and networks, also in cross-border and transnational contexts.
• European Solidarity Corps provides opportunities for knowledge exchange and raising awareness of a culture of preparedness through youth mobility and cooperation projects within the civil protection and disaster management community.
• NDICI-Global Europe addresses global challenges such as climate change and resilience, supporting disaster risk reduction and rapid response initiatives.

This centralised resource, coordinated by the Union Civil Protection Knowledge Network (UCPKN), supports civil protection practitioners, authorities and relevant stakeholders in navigating the wide range of EU funding opportunities available for Disaster Risk Management (DRM). By providing a clear overview of funding instruments, it helps users identify those most relevant to their specific needs. 

The resource is primarily intended for civil protection authorities and their designated points of contact, ensuring targeted and coordinated access to relevant funding information.
