The European Commission has just opened a new call for proposals for EU funding on research and innovation projects on crisis management, through Cluster 3 on “Civil security for society”. This is part of the Horizon Europe funding programme, under the heading “A Disaster Resilient Society for Europe”.
The new Cluster 3 is designed to respond to the challenges arising from persistent security threats, such as natural and man-made disasters.
The new “Disaster Resilient Society for Europe” funding covers the following five topics:
Cluster 3 is designed to achieve three expected outcomes in this area:
- Losses from natural, accidental and man-made disasters are reduced through enhanced disaster risk reduction based on preventive actions.
- Better societal preparedness.
- Resilience and improved disaster risk management in a systemic way.
There is a total of EUR 27.5 million indicative budget available under this call. The deadline for applications is 23 November 2023.
