OVERWATCH At the GEO Global Forum 2025

At the GEO Global Forum 2025, our Project Officer Vasilis Kalogirou mentioned the OVERWATCH project during his participation in Community Event Session 10: "Copernicus: Earth Observation Services in Support of EU Policies, Market Uptake and Broader Earth Intelligence".

This session explored the role of  Copernicus, the European Union’s flagship Earth Observation initiative, in integrating EO data with a wider range of information to strengthen Earth Intelligence and provide ongoing, actionable services to support decision-making and policy at various levels.

The mention of OVERWATCH underlines the relevance of the project in this evolving landscape and how projects under Horizon Europe are actively contributing to the implementation of EU policies. 

Copernicus ECMWF evolves continuously to address emerging needs and requirements through new research and technology developments to ensure it remains state-of-the-art and evolves with GEO post-2025 priorities.

The session aimed to showcase the value of Copernicus in backing EU policies, encouraging the use of Earth observation services across markets, and reinforcing its broader role in informed decision-making and Earth Intelligence.
